I read the Chris Tidey's story regarding Aden & Abdile--if we want to specifically help a family, how is this done? I can bring this up to FAWCO, as I am their rep in Greece (FAWCO, the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas, a UN accredited ngo & on UN ECOSOC).

I was very interested to read your article. We are working here in Israel with Sudanese refugees, about 3000 in our small city of Eilat in the south. The situation for them here is uncertain and many would like to return home. We are concerned about the conditions they'll face there and especially for the children. Some of our people are from Malakal.

I wrote a book, "A People Tall and Smooth - Stories of Escape from Sudan to Israel" which includes the stories of 5 of the refugees who came here.

Polio has been successfully eradicated from most countries of the world. The only country where polio is increasing is Pakistan. This is not only a source of worry for the local health authorities, but for international health authorities as well. The tribal area of Pakistan is where anti-polio campaign teams have failed to convince the residents to allow them to administer the anti-polio drops. Getting polio eradicated from these war torn areas will be an uphill task and will take a concentrated effort and continuous campaigning.

Hi DO'C

thank you for being out there to represent us here in Ireland and to report back on what is going on. I cant' believe it is 6 months since the earthquake. I can't believe the amount of people who have contributed to stabilizing the situation and protecting the children that are there. I wish Unicef and all the workers all the best as they work to help get the children back to school and to some sense of normality and hope for the future...
thank you to all..
